About Me
I “saw the light” for the first time on 1968. Since then, I have been always trying to give it the value it deserves. I gave up studying after graduating at junior high; nevertheless, I went on reading, drawing, studying works of Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Mantegna and Tiziano. I was mainly attracted by the paintings’ faces and the painter’s talent to manage the light. I started sketching with Indian ink. Then, thanks to Gabriele Agostini and especially Carlo Bragagnolo, I started exploring the new passion of mine: photography. I am still immensely thankful to both of them. Without them, I would not be the man I am now. I kept on reading and reading books. My discipline is based on listening and talking to each other with deep respect. This is the secret, in my opinion, to turn a shot into an unique one, custom-taylored as a suit. Everybody deserves a special picture as everybody is special and unique. No matter if it is a book, a portrait or a wedding: the subject of a photo has to be treated with as much respect as possible. |
Why do I take pictures? It is a question I often ask to myself. The answer could be taken for granted but it is not, at least to me. I do love taking pictures. I have always been attracted by portraits, especially the ones which one can recognize oneself in and see the true part of oneself, with no artifices. That is why I prefer an informal meeting before taking shots. Drinking something together, getting to know each other… If you are looking for something intimate you have to reach reciprocal trust first. A picture looks far from being perfect because of the lack of bond between the photographer and the subject of the portrait. It could sound obviuos, but they just need to feel comfortable, with no barriers at all… |
